Itineraries
Day 1
The Journey Begins
We'll pick you up from Moshi and set forth towards Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arriving at the gate, permits will be obtained, and your adventure commences. As we delve into the beautiful rainforest scenery, your guide will share insights into the local flora, fauna, and wildlife. The trail might be muddy and slippery at lower elevations, so we recommend gaiters and trekking poles. Overnight stay at Machame Camp.
Day 2
Duration: 4-5 hours
After breakfast, we'll journey through the rainforest, emerging onto an ascending path that leads us across the valley along a steep rocky ridge. The route then takes a westward turn into a river gorge, leading to Shira Campsite. Temperatures begin to drop at this point. Overnight at Shira Camp.
Day 3
Duration: 5-6 hours
Following breakfast, we leave Shira Plateau and proceed east up a ridge, passing the junction towards the Kibo peak. Continuing southeast towards the Lava Tower, also known as the "Shark's Tooth" (elev. 4650m/15,250ft). Afterward, we descend to overnight at Barranco Camp.
Day 4
Duration: 3-4 hours
After breakfast, we head to Barranco Wall, an adventurous steep ridge, and eventually reach the Karanga Valley, where we connect with the Mweka Trail. Witness the remarkable strength and agility of our crew as they navigate this challenging wall with ease. Overnight at Karanga Camp.
Day 5
Duration: 3-4 hours
Following breakfast, we continue our ascent towards Barafu Camp, completing the South Circuit, which offers breathtaking views of the summit from various angles. An early dinner and rest prepare us for the summit night. Overnight at Barafu Camp.
Day 6
Duration: 5-7 hours
Between midnight and 2 a.m., we wake up for the final climb to the summit. This section is mentally and physically demanding, but the sense of accomplishment is unparalleled. We ascend through scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim, greeted by a magnificent sunrise during our brief rest here. From there, it's an hour's ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire African continent! Celebrations and tears of joy await before we begin the descent to Mweka Camp. Overnight at Mweka Camp.
Day 7
Duration: 3-4 hours
After breakfast and a heartfelt ceremony of appreciation and team bonding with our crew, it's time to bid farewell. We descend to Mweka Park Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates. A vehicle will meet you at Mweka village to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi, concluding this remarkable journey of conquering Mount Kilimanjaro.
