Lake Nakuru is famous for being one of the 3 major flamingo lakes in Kenya holding a concentrate of up to 2 million birds at the optimal season. lake Nakuru is also the most dependable game spot located to the north of Nairobi boosting an impressive population of giraffe, hippo, baboons, buffalo, zebra and Rhino. The park black and white rhino view can only be compared to the Laikipia conservancies of Lewa and Ol Pejeta.

During your safari you will visit the dramatic makalia falls which is the most scenic feature in the park offering a view of 10 m water splash and beautiful sights of flora in the lower reaches.
When is the best time to go for 2 days Lake Nakuru safari
Lake Nakuru offer an excellent all year round safari each season adding a unique set of bush experience. The rainy season(March to April) is the best time for a flamingo watching with the swarm increasing to over 2.4 million at the height of the season. Though you are guaranteed of flamingo scenes throughout the wet season, there number depends on the quantities of algae in the lake something that have become very unpredictable due to destructive human activities that caused desalination(precipitation) of the water. However, you will still have optimal view at nearby flamingo lakes- Elementaita and Bogoria. The dry season on the other end will offer optimal game view with the lake side being one of those places in the park that sustain tracks of lush grasslands over the prolonged dry period.
Program
Day 1 : Nairobi- Lake Nakuru
Our driver arrive at the airport/ hotel in Nairobi. At 0730 hrs you depart for Nakuru via Naivasha. The two hrs journey leads to some of the most dramatic terrains with views of Lake Naivasha, the perfect round Longonot crater and the scenic rift valley escarpments. You will stopover at the rift valley viewpoint and take images of the rift valley features. You arrive at golden palace hotel before 1000 hrs where you check in and head to the park with picnic lunch. Game drive start at the lake to view flamingos and other waterbirds on the soggy lake shorelines. Lake Nakuru boost a flourishing lakeside beds that are teeming with wildlife all year round. Afterwards you will go game tracking in the extensive wilderness with a possible excursion at baboon cliff which is a stronghold for primates. Lunch will be served here or at the scenic Makalia falls
Day 2: Lake Nakuru- Nairobi
Early morning, you will go for a prebreakfast game drive around the lake. the sunrise game drive is one of the most rewarding safari experience as most of the wildlife are actively looking for the day meal. You return to the hotel at 9 o’clock. By 1000 hrs you will have checked out and started the return journey to Nairobi. You are dropped off at the point of pick up in the afternoon.
